Maire Whitehead

Maire was a headteacher and Vice President of the AHTS. She served as an assessor for Public Appointments, was a member of a University Ethics Committee and a board member of Central College.

Maire is a non-executive board member of both the Golden Jubilee and the State Hospital. As lay member of NES NHS, she helps supervise the training of junior doctors.

Steven Watson

Steven is a retired accountant. He was a former Vice Principal of Glasgow Metropolitan College and of the City of Glasgow College.

 
 
 
 
 

Roderick Livingston

Roderick was the manager of Strathclyde Business School, lately Convenor of Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities Military Education Committee.

Roderick was also formerly Vice Chairman of Glasgow College of Nautical Studies and Director of New Campus Glasgow.

He is presently Chairman of the UK Council of Military Education Committees.

 

Alastair Carmichael

Alastair served an electrical apprenticeship and joined the Merchant Navy.

He became an electrical inspector in the power industry, was a trade union representative and a member of the local Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

Alastair started an electrical company in 1979.

Alastair was elected an SNP councillor in East Renfrewshire in 2007. He was elected Provost of the Council in 2012.

Brian Filling

Brian is the Honorary Consul for South Africa.

He organised Nelson Mandela’s visit to Glasgow in 1993 and was a guest at Nelson Mandela’s Inauguration as President. He was awarded the “National Order of the Companions of O.R. Tambo” in 2012, the highest honour awarded to non-South Africans by the Republic of South Africa.

Brian was formerly Vice-Principal of Glasgow Metropolitan College, a constituent college of the City of Glasgow College.

Alastair Martin

Alastair is a retired accountant. He was the former Vice Principal of James Watt College of Further and Higher Education and former Clerk to the Board of Cardonald College Glasgow.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Malcolm McCaig

Malcolm holds a portfolio of Non-Executive Directorships, mostly in banking and insurance.  He was previously on the boards of Glasgow Metropolitan College and Glasgow Caledonian University, and a member of the Audit Committee of the House of Lords.

He was a Partner at Ernst & Young and at Deloitte, and has held senior management positions at Prudential, Clydesdale Bank and CIGNA.
